We were able to visit California Great America one last time before SUMMER ENDS! We wanted to spend most of our time at Boomerang Bay. We have been to Great America a couple of times but never was able to experience the awesome water fun area! One thing I HIGHLY recommend is renting a Cabana. OMG that was the best $50 I spent there, lol! We had 2 chaises, table/chairs, fridge, plug-in for phones, fan, locked safe, and an inter-tube. You can also order food and it will be delivered right to you. I was able to sit in there while the kids enjoyed the WAVE POOL- Great Barrier Reef. When we were ready to go ride some rides we locked all our valuables in the safe and headed out. No one can get into the Cabana area without a wristband so I felt safe to leave . The best thing was I didn’t get burned to a crisp like I usually do- so worth it!
Now the Boomerang Bay is almost done for the season- Open on the weekends until Sept 13th. Check out the schedule- HERE. There are a couple of Sundays that the park is closed due to Football Games.
There are so many cool rides to enjoy in Boomerang Bay. I actually got in the water in the Castaway Creek- The area’s longest lazy river that offers in-water lounging in a relaxing environment! It was fun and the kids loved seeing me in the water. After enjoying the lazy river we headed to the Water Slides- Screamin’ Wombat and Ripsnort Ridge.
My older kids REALLY ENJOYED the Tasmanian Typhoon, Down Under Thunder, and Didgeridoo Falls.
I took the little one on the Logger’s Run (Float along in your own log boat in and around Boomerang Bay. After a refreshing journey, splash down a 60 foot drop on this classic flume ride) and we are both afraid of heights but had the best time!
There is so much to do- you will need one whole day to enjoy everything in Boomerang Bay. The kids spent the majority of their time at the Great Barrier Reef.
Check out the video of the wave pool:
